Arsenal Ready to Hand Star Youngsters New Contracts as Reward for Excellent Form

Arsenal are ready to hand talented youngsters Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi bumper new contracts in the coming weeks, according toGoal.

WhileIwobi's recent breakthrough into the Arsenal first team has been somewhat surprising, Bellerin has made the right-back slot his own over the past couple of seasons, displacing Mathieu Debuchy once Bacary Sagna left for Manchester City in 2014.

The 21-year-old's future has been up in the air for several months, with European heavyweights Barcelona and Manchester City both interested in signing the Spaniard.

Indeed,Bellerin was brought upin the Barcelona academy before his move to London in his early teens, while City bossPep Guardiola knows all about him from his own time in Catalonia.

Both clubs have been lining up big-money summer moves for the player, and this has prompted Arsenal to try andtie Bellerin toa bumper new deal. In fairness, regardless of the prying eyes of other clubs, his form merits an improved contract anyway.

The playerhas three years left on his current deal, but with rivals snooping around, Arsenal are attempting to reward him for his performances and up his weekly earnings - this will hopefully have the knock-on effect ofwarding off competition for his signature.

Iwobi, meanwhile, is due for a hefty pay rise of his own, even while he only signed a new contract with Arsenal a mere six months ago.

The 20-year-old has impressed on both flanks for Arsenal's first team and has become an increasingly influential figure in the side, despite his young age.

The two players aren't the only pair Arsenal are looking to tie down to new deals, as both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are being lined up for new contracts at some point in the near future.
