Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has acknowledged Olivier Giroud's annoyance at his lack of game time this season, and believes he is frustrated at his situation at the club.

The French international has started just two games in all competitions this season under Wenger, having seen red-hot Alexis Sanchez move in-field into the central striking position.

The Chilean's form has made life difficult for Giroud, who has had to watch his team-mate fire in the goals from the bench. But despite limited game time, the former Montpellier striker has still managed five goals and has often made an impact as a substitute.

As reported by the Express, Walcott, who has just become a father for the second time, said: "Olivier's strengths are fantastic. I know he will be frustrated by the amount of games he has not played but if you look at his scoring record and how effective he has been on the pitch - again on Sunday, coming off the bench and grabbing an assist. It just shows he keeps on reminding the manager what he can do."

Giroud was named as asubstitute again on Sunday for the clash against Bournemouth, despite recent heroics against PSG in the Champions League and Manchester United in the league at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old watched on as Sanchez opened the scoring after a defensive error by Simon Francis, before coming on in the second half to assisthis strike partnerforhis brace.

Walcott, who started on the right-hand side, continued his personalfine form byscoring his sixthleague goal of the season.

The England winger has come in for criticism throughout his Arsenal careerfrom some fans and pundits, but is currently going the right way about silencing them with an extended purple patch.

His goals have helped Arsenal up into fourth in the Premier Leaguetable, just three points behind leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal nextface Southampton in an EFL Cup quarter-final on Tuesday, with Giroud a doubt according to Wenger.

"The only worry we have is Giroud. He looked to touch his hamstring. We have to see how deep the damage is." he said.
