Ghana Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has heap praises on Vice-captain Andre Dede Ayew for taking the initiative to foot the airfares of some of the playing body who are not in good financial standing.

The Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuye wanted majority of local players to feature against Rwanda because the ministry is claiming that they don’t have enough funds and moreover the Black Stars have already qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

However, some foreign-based players volunteered to foot their airfares and Andre Ayew assisted the other players who weren’t in a good financial standing to buy tickets for the tie.

Asamoah Gyan, who was busily sorting out his club issues has laud his teammate for coming to the aid of his colleagues.

“I must commend Andre Ayew if he managed to foot the airfares of some of the Black Stars players. I wasn’t informed the players were taking care of their airfares, so when I go to camp and I am debriefed, I will come out publicly to thank Andre for his kind gesture,” Gyan told the press after arriving at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday.

The 30-year-old striker has sealed a one-year loan move to Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.
