Ghana midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari insists there is only one legend left in the national team, the Black Stars.
Sulley Muntari revealed the only legend is the Black Stars team is Captain Asamoah Gyan because he is breaking records that have been set by the likes of Abedi Ayew Pele.
Sulley Muntari played with Asamoah Gyan at both club and national team levels including all the world cups the country has been present.
Ghana has been blessed with so many legends with the likes of Mohammed Polo, Ibrahim Sunday and Michael Essiens rhyming on the lips of Ghanaians.
However, Sulley Muntari indicates at the moment Gyan has attained legendary status and must be celebrated.
“For now you don’t see the legends anymore. The likes of Abedi, Yeboah, Arhinful, Appiah, Laryea and Essien are all not around anymore. The only legend left in the Black Stars is Asamoah Gyan because he is breaking everything,” Sulley said in an interview on the Football Legends Night Show.
Sulley Muntari has been with the national team of Ghana since 2002, he has earned over 80 caps for the national team and has been selected for two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and three FIFA World Cups.
