Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan is set to extend his contract with UAE side Al Ahli.

The goalpoacher's contract with the Arabian Gulf League side comes to an end in July this year.

However Al Ahli officials are planning to hand the Ghanaian international an extension to stay with the Club following his huge contribution since joining on loan from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan has scored seven goals for Al Ahli in the Arabian Gulf League this season. He was expected to rejoin his parent Club in China but sources reveal he could stay on for another two years should the two parties agree terms.

The Ghanaian international has become a household name in the UAE after excelling in his first stint with Al Ain where he scored over 100 goals for the Club in three season.
