Asamoah Gyan’s brace against Kasimpasa Lands Him a Spot in Turkish League team of the week

Black Stars skipper and Kayserispor striker, Asamoah Gyan has been named alongside Cameron James and Mbaye Diagne as the attackers for the Turkish Super League team of the week.

The inclusion of Gyan in the team of the week comes on the back of his heroics on Sunday that helped his side to come from behind and beat Kasimpasa by two goals to one.

The player came on from the bench in the second half to score two beautiful headers to secure all three points for his club. He showed quality and experience to bag his wonderful brace in the space of 5 minutes.

Putting the match in perspective, the former Al Ain man made it into the team of the week with an overall rating of 8.1. It is the 3rd highest rating among all the 11 players selected for the team of the week.

The All-time leading scorer for the Black Stars has scored three goals in 12 appearances for Kayserispor this season and is in contention to earn a call up for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to be hosted in Egypt from June 21, to July 19, 2019.
