Asamoah Gyan’s dream to return to Black Stars squad for world cup is natural; he loves Ghana a lot - Samuel Eto’o

Qatar Legacy Ambassador, Samuel Eto’o has waved into Asamoah Gyan’s desire to return to the Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In a recent interview with BBC World Service, the former captain of the Black Stars disclosed that he wants to fight his way back into the national team before this year’s world cup.

Asked for his thoughts on the matter while in Ghana over the weekend for a tour, Samuel Eto’o said he understands the desire.

According to him, Asamoah Gyan is motivated by his love for Ghana.

“The motivation [to play at the world cup] is because of his love for for his country and the champion player that he is,” the Cameroon legend shared.

Samuel Eto’o continued, “I think it’s a good thing to have a dream and I believe for all African sons that gave us joy while playing, it is just natural that they nurture such a dream.

“I hope that his dream becomes a reality. But as we are all aware, the final decision is that of the coach.”

At the moment, Asamoah Gyan has stepped up training and hopes to get into proper shape to merit a place in the Black Stars squad for the Qatar world cup.
