Asante Kotoko cannot afford to drop any points again - Maxwell Konadu warns

Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu says his outfit cannot afford to drop points again in bid to win the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League title at the end of the season.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered two consecutive defeats to Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea, however, they bounced to winning ways with a 2-0 win over struggling Ebusua Dwarfs.

The result lifted them to 6th on the league with nine points after five matches played so far.

Speaking after their win over Dwarfs, the 47-year-old says he's still hurt by his side’s two league defeats against Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC, however they cannot afford to drop points again.

"Though we have won this game, but we are still thinking about the games we lost. We will not allow the win to overshadow the two defeat.

"That defeat is something I have been thinking about. It still hurt when I remember. I’m still trying to find out what really happened," he said.

"We are going to work hard to win the subsequent games. We can’t afford to drop any points again."

Asante Kotoko will make a short trip to Accra to face their arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day six of the Ghana Premier League.
