Asante Kotoko coach Akunnor choose points over goals in Zesco victory

Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwablah Akunnor says he is satisfied with the three points in Zesco United win than the goal his side conceded.

On Wednesday, the Porcupine Warriors defeated the Zambian giants 2-1 at Baba Yara stadium in the CAF Confederation Cup group C fixture to pick their first three points of the campaign.

Though playing in the Confederation Cup requires collecting more points, however more goals will be needed following the rules of the game with regards to goals scored either at home or away and goals conceded both home and away.

Kotoko, in the first 35 minutes of the game netted double to urge them the supremacy but unreluctant Zesco United pushed harder to found an equalizer in the latter part of the game.

Coach Akunnor says the most important thing to him is Kotoko winning the game despite conceding at home.

"Looking at the goal Zesco United scored, speaks of how good the side is. Don't forget they went to South Africa and won at Kaizer Chief".

"Offensively most of our opponents are strong", he told the media in the post match conference.

"We always try to contain the pressure and sometimes we will concede but what is important here is we(Kotoko) won the game".
