Asante Kotoko General Manager, George Amoako has disclosed that his outfit has pulled out of the race to sign AshantiGold trio and will move on without them.

According to George Amoako, Kotoko wrote a formal letter to the Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold asking for the availability of the trio – Shafiu Mumuni, James Akaminko, and Richard Djodi but the Miners lack of response has ended their chase for the players.

“We approached AshantiGold for the services of some of their players“. I sent a formal letter to the club’s CEO but I haven’t received any formal response from him,” Amoako told Asempa FM Sports.

He stated that Kotoko has no interest in the players and will move on with their African campaign without them.

"However, I want to make it clear here and now that I have abandoned my request for the AshantiGold players.”

"I don’t want them anymore. We can go ahead without them," he added.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to augment their squad ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup group matches. Kotoko SC are in Group C with Nkana FC, Zesco United from Zambia and Al Hilal of Sudan.
