Asante Kotoko is one of the best teams in Africa - Nkana FC PRO reveals

Club Media Officer for Nkana FC, Lilian Musenge has disclosed that football in Africa will always involve Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The two-time Africa champions have been pitted in Group C of the Caf Confederation Cup group stage which will kick off on February 1. Sudanese side Nkana FC will be playing the Porcupine Warriors for the first time in the Caf competition alongside Al-Ailha and Zesco United.

The Communication Director for the club has affirmed that Kotoko is a great team in Africa football but not an exceptional opponent to play against in the group stage.

"It is an interesting draw because Nkana FC would be meeting Kotoko and also Zesco United in our own league" You can't talk about African football without Asante Kotoko because it is a good team but Nkana FC is also a good team," Musenge told Kumasi based radio station Ashh FM.

"Nkana FC is not afraid of any team in the group and we are ready to meet every team". Every game in the group is important and Nkana FC is not just coming to make up the numbers but will qualify from the group".

The Reds will play Nkana FC in their first group game. The group is however expected to produce one champion for the next stage of the competition.

The only Ghanaian club in the 2019 Caf competition since 2008, beat Cameroonian champions Coton Sports 5-3 on aggregate to reach the money zone of the competition.

Having denied Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya the opportunity in the preliminary stage of the competition, Coach C.K Akunnor and his lads are set to re-write history.
