Asante Kotoko are on the verge of signing a mega headline sponsorship deal with Asanko Gold Mines, Footballghana.com can report.
The Porcupine Warriors are in advanced negotiations with the locally based mining company, a subsidiary of ASANKA GOLD INC of Canada to take over as their new headline sponsor.
The Asanka Gold Mines are expected to take over from MTN Ghana in the coming days ahead of the new season.
According to reports, the agreement yet to be signed will see the mining firm adopting some players of the club to bear the cost that comes with the payment of the salaries of the said players.
Meanwhile, according to Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM, a meeting held earlier this week between the management of Kotoko and Asanko was successful.
However, Asanko Gold Ghana are waiting for a confirmation from the Reds to make them the headline sponsors of the club because they are ready to pay double of what the current headline sponsors (MTN Ghana) pay for Kotoko.
Asanko Mines have been one of the leading mining firms in Ghana since last year.
