Morrison, who joined Asante Kotoko in 2022 from King Faisal FC, is just 24 years old and is one of over 20 players being released by the club following their disappointing Ghana Premier League campaign.

Despite his contract set to expire in June 2025, it will be terminated in the coming days.

Expressing his sadness in an interview with Kessben FM, Morrison described the news as "heartbreaking."

He had hoped to finish his contract on a positive note but understands that football doesn't always go as planned.

"It’s somehow heartbreaking to me because this team has always been a team I wanted to play for and win trophies with. But this news can’t break me down as a player.

"I am pained because I wanted to finish my contract in a very beautiful way so that I will leave peacefully. But I don’t know how this thing has happened. Going forward, I will accept this in good faith and move on with my career."
