Asante Kotoko SC mad at Sharks reception

CAF representative from Ghana in the 2019 Africa Inter-club competition, Asante Kotoko SC arrived in Kenya ahead of away clash with Kariobangi Sharks.

However, recorded poor reception from the Kenyan club, doing with transportation of team to hotel and training grounds.

Deputy leader of delegation for Kotoko SC, Edmund Ackah in an interview with the media in Kenya lamented bitterly how they [Kotoko] were treated.Expressing it as 'astonished'.

“We are astonished by the kind of reception our friends handed us on arrival at the airport".

"They only gave us a very small bus that could not accommodate the travelling contingent and even after complaining, they accepted to offer us a better option but we are yet to see the same".

According to Edmund Ackah, upon several grievances poured the team[Kotoko] were forced to use the same transport offered them to the hotel and training grounds.“Even after complaining that we don’t need the small bus, we were forced to use the same to the training venue, the ground itself turned out to be very poor and not to the standards required by Caf."

Kotoko will face Kariobangi Sharks at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi before a return leg in Kumasi a week later.Hoping to exit Kariobangi Sharks from the competition.

Coach C.K Akonnor added that, the training pitch is a bad one and not a standard required for CAF competitions.
