Asante Kotoko select 35 players after justify-your-inclusion for youth team

After a successful justify-your-inclusion exercise which ended on Monday, Ghana Premier League Asante Kotoko have selected 30 outfield players and five goalkeepers.

The 35 players, who will serve as the core of the new Asante Kotoko U-18 team are expected to report at the club's training complex at Adako Jachie on Tuesday.

The exercise was to select players for the Youth team which was disbanded in 2018 by Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei.

The youth team has unearthed several talents in the past including current Black Meteors goalkeeper Dan Lad Ibrahim.

The Porcupine Warriors want to meet Confederation of African Football's (CAF) Club Licensing Regulations which require that clubs have a youth system of both U-15 and U-19 teams.

In the past, the club has depended on buying players rather than depend on their feeder club.
