Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko are set to appoint AshantiGold SC head coach Kjetil Zachariassen as their new coach following the sacking of Charles Kwablan Akonnor.

According to reports reaching Footballghana.com, the Porcupine Warriors are in advance negotiations with the 44-year-old Norwegian trainer.

The UEFA Pro Licensed coach has managed three Ivorian clubs including Stella Club of Abidjan, AS Tanda and Williamsville Athletic Club of Ivory Coast.

Zachariassen guided Ashanti Gold SC to win the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition tier-2 final by beating Nzema Kotoko to earn a ticket to represent Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Coach Zachariassen will become the eighth coach to join Kotoko in three seasons.
