Asante Kotoko has written to the Club Licensing Board of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] requesting a venue change to Obuasi Len clay Sports Stadium instead of Accra Sports Stadium as their home grounds ahead of the second half of the football season.

The Ghana Premier League have been playing their 2020/21 football season at the Accra Sports Stadium to ongoing renovation at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Footballghana.com understand the Porcupine Warriors will move to Obuasi immediately after their request is approved and use the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium for the league matches until the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi is ready.

Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah speaking early this month revealed that the team quit Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the second half of the season.

He stressed that they will like to play their home matches at the Tamale Sports Stadium or Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

“The cost of playing in Accra is not easy and we are still engaging the Ghana Football Association,” he told Adom TV.

“We want to play in Obuasi or Tamale because we feel we can spread the love of the game by playing at those areas and so we are only calling on the FA to bear with us,” he added.

Kotoko have finished the first half of the season on the 4th position with 27 points, scoring 13 goals and conceded 7 goals.

The Porcupine Warriors will be hosted at the Nana Ameyaw Park by Elven Wonders in the matchday 18 games next weekend.
