Baba Mahama has promised to hit top form next season after he admitted to not playing to his very best in his debut season for the porcupine warriors.

The utility midfielder announced his presence in the Ghana Premier League with Techiman City two seasons ago and was one of Kotoko's top signings last season.

Despite playing his part in winning the 2017 FA Cup, the nibble-footed player has admitted he was not at his best and has vowed to put in his best to hit top form in the coming season.

“Admittedly I didn’t play to my utmost best last season," he said. “That was not my best form. But I can hit top form, and I look forward to exactly that next season. I'm certain that fans would see a a much improved game from me."

"My target for last season was to become a key figure in the team and contribute hugely to its trophy haul. I didn’t do too badly but l think that I could have done better," he explained.

Mahama had to brave a tough challenge last season with a number episodes of injuries that interrupted his performance.

Comparing last year's preseason activities to that of now, the player admits to improvements in his condition saying: "things have started on a brighter note."

“I didn’t have a full preseason with the team because I arrived when the period was almost ending. Therefore I could not get much playing time in the early days of the season. I picked up but fell sick when I was beginning to enjoy some consistency. But things are pleasantly different this time. I'm here with the team for preseason and look forward to entering the season much stronger and well prepared”.
