Asante Kotoko striker William Opoku Mensah has set sights on a Black Stars call-up under coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor.

Mensah was rated as one of the outstanding players for Porcupine Warriors before the league was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the former Karela United striker, he is prepared to represent Ghana if he's given the opportunity by coach CK Akonnor.

"When given the opportunity, I will serve my country very well. I'm very much prepared when coach CK [Akonnor] gives me the opportunity", Opoku Mensah told Takoradi based Aseda FM.

The 24-year-old joined Asante Kotoko in January as a free agent after leaving Swoop Park Rangers in the United States.

He has previously featured for Bayern Munich FC in Sekondi Takoradi, University of Cape Coast Youngsters, Danbort FC, and Eleven Wise.

He made the headlines after scoring an incredible hat-trick against Hearts of Oak in 2018 when he was playing for Karela United.
