Asante Kotoko switch home venue; set to use Tamale Sports stadium

Asante Kotoko are set to switch their home venue from Accra Sports stadium to Tamale Sports stadium in the on-going 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

According to reports, the Porcupine Warriors have written to the Ghana Football Association and copied the Club Licensing Board requesting a venue change

The team is expected to move to Tamale immediately after their request is approved, and use the Tamale Sports Stadium for the league and the Champions League matches until the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi is ready.

However, Kotoko are expected to play the CAF Champions League return encounter against FC Nouadhibou at the Accra Sports stadium before finally moving to Tamale for the remainder of the season.

The club has also sent a request to CAF, to change their CAF Champions League matches to Tamale Sports Stadium.

It will be recalled that Kotoko chose the Tamale Stadium as their second venue for the Champions League Matches.

According to further reports, their outstanding Premier League game against Accra Great Olympics will be played at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Kotoko have picked up only points from their opening two games of the season.
