The Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu says Asante Kotoko will be offering an opportunity to talented players in Ashanti Region in the coming years.

According to a report filed by Oyerepa FM, Kofi Badu told journalists in a closed-door meeting on Tuesday that there will be a change in the club's player transfer policy.

The Porcupine Warriors have made poor signings in the past season, causing the millions of cedis following their poor performance during their stint at the club.

"Talented footballers in and around the Ashanti Region to get the chance to showcase their talent so they are recruited into Asante Kotoko," he quoted saying by Oyerepa FM.

"The frequent purchase of ''big names'' to be a thing of the past, only on exceptional cases."

Meanwhile, the Manhyia Palace is reportedly set to announce the new Asante Kotoko Board of Directors in the coming days.

The Reds are currently undergoing restructuring at all departments of the club ahead of league resumption.
