Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams has expressed disappointment following his side’s failure to finish in the top four in the just ended Ghana Premier League.

Tarkwa based club, Medeama SC ended the league season with a better head to head record to beat the former Premier League champions for the fourth position.

“It is very sad and I’m very disappointed that Kotoko didn’t finished among the top four clubs” he told Kumasi based Ash FM

“A team like Kotoko doesn’t deserve to be out of the top four clubs. It is very disappointing,” he added.

Adams who was influential for Kotoko in the first half of the season lost his position in the second half, and the former Black Meteors guardsman has explained the reason behind that.

“After match day 22, I got injured and I was at the treatment room but I failed to recover in time. So I’m still nursing that injury so that next season I can start the season very strongly,” he concluded.

The last time the Kumasi giants won the domestic top-flight championship was three seasons ago. They have since not won any major trophy.

Adams joined the Ghana Premier League club two seasons ago as a free agent.
