The playing body, technical team, as well as staff of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club (SC), are set to undergo a Covid-19 test plus general health assessment to ascertain their condition, reports coming in has revealed.
The players have been home for the last 2 months as a result of the Coronavirus disease which forced the halting of the Ghana Premier League season in March.
With the possibility that the football season in the West African country will resume, officials of Ashgold has decided to take a proactive measure to check the health of all of its players and staff.
According to a report from Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the new management has already agreed on the testing of the players and are putting in place the needed measures before the exercise will be carried out.
A source says the management believes this is necessary to ensure all problems that may be detected in the players and staff of the club can be corrected before the football season finally makes a return.
