The CEO of Obuasi Ashgold and president of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has made it clear that his team will be among the top four at the end of the season despite the earlier season troubles.
Commenting on the sudden departure of the team’s coach, Bashir Hayford, who resigned last week, Fianoo said despite the sudden resignation of their league-clinching coach, Ashgold had what it takes to bounce back in style to keep their hopes alive.
“We have all been taken aback by Coach Bash’s sudden resignation but as a big club we stand tall”, Fianoo said.
Throwing more light on the coaches departure, he said even though Team Ashgold were not in the known prior to his resignation, the set-up of the club had what it takes to bounce back.
He said, “Coach Mambo our assistant coach has proved capable in times of need and this time being no different will be supported to salvage the situation till a decision is made”.
Going forward Fianoo said, “this is not the first time that a team of this calibre is experiencing this in the middle of the league and per his managerial acumen Ashgold will come out among the top four clubs”.
When asked by Graphic Sports who the next trainer would be, he said after stakeholders meeting of the club, the forward match would be made public.
Fianoo used the occasion to call on all stakeholders of the club to put their hands on deck as proper measures were being put in place to push the club forward.
