Obuasi Ashanti Gold has made an approach to make outspoken football administrator Kofi Manu as its Greater Accra Region Representative as well as a Special Consultant.
Nicknamed the Miners, the Ghana Premier League giants recently formed a new management team and looks like they are getting more resource persons on board to help the club achieve success.
New CEO for Ashgold, Emanuel Frimpong in an interview with Oyerepa FM has confirmed the interest in bringing Kofi Manu on board.
''It's true we have approached Kofi Manu to be part of our team and he is always welcomed”, he said.
Meanwhile, adding weight to the news, Kofi Manu himself has confirmed that such talks are ongoing.
“Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has spoken to me about joining Ashantigold as Accra Rep and a special Consultant and advisor but we are yet to make that official with documentations”, he said.
If things go according to plan, an agreement should be agreed on before the 2019/2020 football season resumes.
