Ashgold in talks to renew contracts of Anabila, Akaminko

Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC is currently in talks with Latif Anabila and Jerry Akaminko to renew their contracts, club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed.

The Ghana Premier League giants are one of two clubs selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to represent the West African country in next season's edition of the CAF inter-club competitions.

In a bid to ensure the team is well prepared for the campaign, the club has decided to bring in some additional players. In doing so, they have also decided to extend the contracts of some of their top players.

"We have new players coming on board,with Latif, Jerry Akaminko and the likes,we are trying to renew their contracts, talks are still ongoing", Ashgold CEO Emmanuel Frimpong told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM in an interview.

The Obuasi club will be participating in the CAF Confederations Cup next season while Asante Kotoko plays in the Champions League.
