Jordan Ayew's Aston Villa future could be in doubt after his club signed two strikers for big money and nearly shipped him out on transfer deadline day.

The Sun claim the attacker looks set to struggle for game time following an influx of new signings this summer.

The 24-year-old Ghanian was snapped up from Lorient 12 months ago but couldn't help save the club from relegation to the Championship.

He was one of the Villans' better players and bagged seven goals.

But Villa have overhauled their squad this summer as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.

They have signed strikers Ross McCormack for £12m from Fulham and Jonathan Kodjia from Bristol City for £15m.

Another addition was winger Albert Adomah from Middlesbrough.

And despite rivalling him for a starting spot in the team, Adomah claims Ayew helped convince him to move to Aston Villa.
