Wolfsburg winger Anton Donkor is set to join Aston Villa, according toBild, with Villans manager Steve Bruce hoping an injection of pace, coupled with a series of other additions could boost their charge for the Championship playoff places.

The 19-year-old, who is yet to make his first-team debut for the Bundesliga club, is a German Under-20 international, although it is claimed that Donkor would likely be earmarked for Villa's developmental team as opposed to the first team.

According to the report, the left-sided player has been informed that his prospects of breaking into the Wolfsburg team are extremely unlikely, although he is contracted to the club until 2020.

Meanwhile, Villans full-backAly Cissokho, who has beenquickly deemed surplus to requirements by Bruce, has travelled to Greece for a medical ahead of signing for Olympiakos on loan.

The left-back has endured an indifferent spell at Villa Park, having signed or the Birmingham club in the summer of 2014, featuring 12 times this season and conceding penalties in Bruce's first two games against Wolves and Reading earlier in the season. As a consequence,Jordan Amavi has been preferred in his position.
