Aston Villa signing Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu would be exciting

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are after both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea.

Villa want the young pair, with Dean Smith keen to add quality to his side in the new year.

And if Villa could land both Hudson-Odoi and Ampadu then their chances of promotion would be greatly increased.

Although the pair are still young and inexperienced, Hudson-Odoi and Ampadu look to be huge talents.

Hudson-Odoi proved just how big a threat he could be over pre-season for Chelsea, with his performances catching the eye.

The winger stood out above many of Chelsea’s other attackers, and his fearlessness could benefit Villa over the second part of the campaign.

Although Smith’s side do have good attacking options already, the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El-Ghazi have failed to perform to the height of their ability.

Ampadu would also be the perfect fit for Smith’s style of play.

The Welshman has shown great skill in possession, and his ability to play in defensive midfield or central defence makes him an appealing addition.

Ampadu has shown on the international stage that he is more than ready to play first-team football.

And if Villa could snap the pair up then it would be an extremely exciting double-swoop for the Midlands side to make.
