According to reports from Spain, Atletico Madrid are confident that Thomas Partey will stay at the club this season instead of moving to Arsenal.
Arsenal had a cash plus player offer for Partey rejected by the Spanish club as they seek his full 50 million euro release clause. Arsenal have agreed personal terms with the player.
The Gunners hoped that Lucas Torreira could be used as makeweight for Partey but Atletico are still firm on this, leaving the London club with no choice but to trigger the clause.
With COVID-19 still there, a number of clubs have struggled for funding and that includes Arsenal which has given Atletico Madrid confidence that their star man will stay.
