La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have been scouting for Thomas Partey's potential replacement and have spotted AC Fiorentina midfielder Erick Pulgar as an ideal candidate.

Partey currently has a buyout clause of 50 million euros and has been heavily linked with a move away from Los Rojiblancos. Arsenal have been touted as the next destination for the all-round midfielder.

In a report by fichajes.net, Atletico have already started discussions with Pulgar's agents but an agreement is yet to be reached.

Pulgar has also been a subject of transfer rumors with Juventus and Inter Milan reportedly interested in the player.

He has become one of the multiple midfield targets Atletico Madrid are looking at. Real Mallorca's Baba Iddrisu, Villarreal's Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Getafe's Mauro Arambarri have been named as Partey's alternative replacements.

Partey is set to make his final decision known by the end of the season. He has made 33 La Liga and Champions League appearances this season.
