Christian Atsu continues to train in Ghana to ensure he stays fit even though the return of the English Premier League is unknown.

The top-flight league in England has been suspended due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) which has been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Atsu returned to Ghana over the past weekend to visit his family to later return to England for the possible return of the EPL in the next couple of weeks.

Due to the growing cases of Coronavirus in Ghana, the government has decided to put a ban on all air travels and has also closed its borders. In line with that, the attacker is expected to stay in the West African country for quite some time.

He has decided to continue training in order to stay in top form in waiting for the resumption of the English Premier League.

"But I'm training and doing everything to keep in shape, to pick up with the season, because I believe the Premier League will be OK soon so I have to train and keep my fitness levels up”, Atsu said while speaking to Newcastle’s website.

He added, "We are all praying for everyone affected by this virus. I believe we must all take good care of ourselves and we will try everything to fight this virus - and I know, if we are united, we are going to fight this virus and we are going to win."
