Ghana winger Christian Atsu is poised to repeat his Best Player of the tournament heroics from two years ago at the AFCON 2017 as he hopes to earn a permanent move away from English Premier League side Chelsea.
Atsu was adjudged the best player of the 2015 tourney after an impressive showing in Equatorial Guinea.
The former Porto player was instrumental for the Black Stars on the flanks although his exploits could not earn the four-time African champions the trophy.
He will be hoping for more of the same this year at Gabon 2017 which gets underway on Saturday as he looks for a permanent move away from Chelsea as well as a huge payday.
The Chelsea-owned player featured in all six games for the Black Stars also won the Nissan Goal of the Tournament after a stunning strike against Guinea in the quarter-final.
Atsu is currently on loan at Newcastle United and will be hoping to land a permanent deal away from the club after the AFCON.
Ghana have been drawn in Group D alongside Egypt, Uganda and Mali. They will play their first match on the 17th against Uganda.
