Australia's focus only on Peru

With Denmark and France also facing off at the same time, Australia need to beat Peru and hope the Danes go down to Les Bleus to progress.

According to Jedinak, Bert van Marwijk’s side are fixed on claiming three points against Peru.

"I don't know how it's going to work, we haven't really touched on it too much," he said.

"First and foremost it has to be about putting in a performance and getting the result we want, three points.

"For us as players, you have got a whole lot to concentrate on in your game without having to worry about everything else.

"I don't know in the latter stages whether that will be relevant or not."

Peru’s FIFA World Cup dream was shattered last Thursday after going down 1-0 to France.

After a 36-year tournament drought, the South Americans have garnered some following for their voracious support and energetic displays throughout their time in Russia.

Ricardo Gareca’s side will certainly not want to depart the tournament empty-handed, and Jedinak is expecting a fierce response from Peru when the pair meet in Sochi.

"I have no doubt that they're going to give it a go," he said.

"Peru hasn't been here for a very long time on this stage so to think that they're just going to turn up and not care about the game or be disillusioned I think is wrong.

"We are expecting a very, very tough game and one that I know that they're going to want to win."
