Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew and his Swansea City side suffered their first away defeat of the 2019/2020 English Championship season when they lost 5-1 at West Bromwich Albion over the weekend.

In a game played at the Hawthorns, it was the home side that cruised to a sweet victory following an overall excellent performance on the day.

At halftime, West Brom was already leading by three goals to one courtesy strikes from Semi Ajayi, Matheus Perreira, and Karl Robson-Kanu. Though Sam Surridge got on the scoresheet for the Swans, it could not revive the needed level of performance in the team as they went on to concede two additional goals in the second half.

Matt Philips and Kyle Edwards managed to get on the scoresheet to hand West Brom and emphatic 5-1 victory.

Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew who was in action for Swansea City could do little and was later substituted on the 83rd minute when the outcome of the match had already been decided.
