Bale battling against Real Madrid locker room opinion for Cardiff start

Gareth Bale is facing fresh push back inside Real Madrid over expectations he will start Saturday's Champions League final against Juventus.

Bale, himself, while acknowledging he "wasn't 100 per cent" fit, also admitted he was battling Isco for a place in coach Zinedine Zidane's starting XI.

Diario Gol says Isco expects to start in Cardiff and his father, Paco, has already relayed this to Real president Florentino Perez.

And Isco's support goes further, with Cristiano Ronaldo also wanting the midfielder to start ahead of Bale.

Ronaldo has made his feelings known to Zidane, believing Isco is in far better shape for the match than the Welshman, who hasn't played for over a month.
