Barcelona directorAriedo Braida is confident Lionel Messi will sign a new contract at the club.

Talk of Messi's future has increased in recent months with his contract set to expire in 2018, while there is also reported interest from the Premier League and Ligue 1 champions PSG. Officials from Barcelona have continuously voiced their confidence in striking a deal with Messi, and Braida has again confirmed that stance.

''Barcelona is the perfect place for him. It's a perfect combination, a perfect marriage," Braida told Radio Anch'io Sport, as quoted byFour Four Two.

"He serves at Barca and vice versa. His life is here, it's his city. He will not move from here."

Barcelona will need an inspired performance from Messi should they hope to overturn the 4-0 deficit they currently hold in the Champions League tie against PSG. The Argentina international was disappointing during the first leg as the French side dominated, and Braida has admitted it will be tough to defy the odds.

"It is very difficult to recover from 4-0, but with a player like Messi nothing is impossible," Braida continued.

"We all have belief that we can do it."

Two goals from Angel Di Maria coupled with strikes from Edinson Cavani and Julian Draxler ensured PSG took a commanding lead to the Nou Camp. Barcelona have recently capitalised on Real Madrid's loss of form, returning to the top of La Liga despite having a played a game more than their fierce rivals.
