Barcelona could be set to dispense with one of their key men in something of a surprise move, with reports in Spain claiming that Ivan Rakitic could be nearing the exit door at the Nou Camp.

The speculation-lovers report that the Croatian midfielder is asking the club for the kind of sky-high wages which would put him in the same earning bracket as Lionel Messi and Neymar, but isn't considered as integral to the Spanish title holders as the South American superstars.
However, the 28-year-old's agent recently said:"Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019."

Speaking before Barcelona's Champions League group stage clash with City earlier this season, Rakitic had said:"Maybe we can have a coffee together!When I took the No.4 jersey it was purely because of him. It was a great opportunity. I took it with both hands.
"He was one of the best in the world. Your team-mates tell you all about him.I hope he is really successful in the future after tomorrow. It would be great to play for him one day and if not, I'll invite him for a coffee.�
