Head Coach of Ashanti Gold Football Club, Bashir Hayford has fired back at his critics describing them as ungrateful after coming under a barrage of attacks for his side’s poor title defence.
The reigning Ghana Premier League coach of the year has seen his side’s title defense crumble right from the start of the 2015/2016 campaign and has suffered numerous verbal attacks including accusations of philandering with his players girlfriends.
The Miners are currently lie 13th on the league log and are just a point above the relegation zone, however, Hayford has never been shy to take on his critics even in hard times and has asked them to be grateful that he ended Ashgold's 19-year league drought.
“I am not under pressure. I won the league last season. They said they had not won the league in 19 years and I was tasked to win and I have won so what pressure again? I am not worried at all. A black man never appreciates anything.
"If he buys a Lexus today, he will wish to get Toyota, if he gets Toyota, he will want to get a Benz. I want to seize this opportunity to pray for all those who carried my news as bushfire in the harmattan.
"I pray for God’s forgiveness for all of them because you can look at me, I have grey hair, my strength is not even like Augustine Sefa. Sefa has a girlfriend how can I go after her?It is an orchestrated attempt to push me out and those who heard it and pushed it like bushfire,
