Bayer Leverkusen Confirm Leon Bailey Interest as Julian Brandt Liverpool Rumours Continue

Bayer Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt has confirmed his side's interest in Genk midfielder Leon Bailey as rumours regarding the future of Julian Brandt continue to circulate.


Bailey has impressed several top European sides with his performances in the Europa League, scoring four goals in six appearances in the competition.


"He's got a lot of pace, he's technically skilled, and someone we are looking at in the long run," Schmidt toldtheRheinische Post.

Bailey's potential arrival could signal the contemporaneous departure of winger Julian Brandt, who has been heavily linked with a move away to Liverpool. Brandt has impressed for Leverkusen, scoring two goals and adding six assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.


Brandt has been linked with a move to Anfield but theLiverpool Echoreport that the 20-year-old will not be leaving during the January transfer window, with Leverkusen reportedly adamant that the youngster will not be sold.

Liverpool will be hoping the arrival ofJamaica U23 international Bailey at Leverkusen can help trigger further transfer developments.
