Dutch-born defender Jeremie Frimpong has stated that playing for the Dutch national side has always been his dream which pushed his decision to snub Ghana.

Frimpong was eligible to feature for the Black Stars but earlier this year, announced his allegiance to the European side.

In an interview with ESPN Netherlands, he stated his reasons for ignoring Ghana.

"I can but England's out the way. I'm not English [or Ghanaian], I'm Dutch."

"Yes of course (it was a dream). As a young kid I wanted to play for my country, to play for Holland."

Frimpong will hope to make an impact on the national team in the near future.
