German international Jerome Boateng has been fined by Bayern Munich for flouting lockdown rules to pay his son a visit.

The center-back was forced to break the rules of the lockdown to go see his son who he has confirmed was feeling ill.

Nonetheless, Bayern Munich had no option than to fine Boateng because he did not seek for permission from them.

Commenting on his fine, Jerome Boateng has shared that he accepts it while indicating that it was a mistake not to inform his employers.

“I know that it was certainly a mistake not to inform the club about my trip, but in the moment I only had my son in mind.

“He was not in good health. When a son calls his father, of course I will still go, no matter what time”, the former World Cup winner told German newspaper Bild.

He added, “For him, I accept any punishment; after all, he is my son. I want to see the father who does not go in such a moment to be with his four-year-old son. If there is a punishment for it, then I respect it. I find it sad.”

Boateng is currently following the lockdown rules and is involved in several charity works to help the needy in Germany.
