Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber has weighed in on the debate about the club's current and previous manager, tellingSky Deutschlandthat he prefers Carlo Ancelotti's style of management.

The Italian manager had a year away from football following a mixed reign at Real Madrid. With Pep Guardiola leaving Bayern last summer, Ancelotti was lined up to take charge at the Allianz Arena.

Despite starting withan eight game winning run, the Italian has found himself under a little bit of pressure following two games without a win.

With a variety of players having their say on the new manager's start to life at Bayern, Badstuber has explained why he thinksAncelotti is a better manager to previous coach Guardiola.

"Our current coach likes to exchange opinions with the players, and so the conversation goes back and forth. That's good too. With Pep, it was different. I would have to approach him because if I want to have a discussion then I will go looking for it." said Badstuber.

"Of course it gives you a good feeling when the coach shows an interest. It was a bit different with our previous coach.''

This sly dig at Guardiola will only add to the scepticism surrounding his time at Bayern. Despite winning the Bundesliga for three consecutive season, many feel the former Barcelona boss underachieved at the club because they never won the Champions League.

Badstuber himself found it difficult to retain a regular place in Guardiola's teams due to indifferent form and a poor fitness record. His injury woes have continued under Ancelotti and despite not making an appearance this season, the defenderremains optimistic about his fitness.

"There are some really crap phases in life, but I accept that,'' Badstuber said. "But I never thought about (retiring) because I know what I get out of football.''
