Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller Admits He Is Delighted to Be Back Playing in His 'Favourite Position'

Bayern Munich midfielderThomas Muller has expressed his delight at playing back in his favourite position as a central playmaker, according toreports.

The 27-year-old World Cup winner returned to form with a dazzling display in the 3-1 Bundesliga win over Mainz, providing an assist for Arjen Robben's goal.

But it was his performance in the centre of the park that impressed above all, with many claiming that he played his best game all season.

Muller has come under scrutiny this season for a number of below-par displays, but Carlo Ancelotti's tactical re-think saw him look far more comfortable in his favourable position.

The win keeps Bayern three points adrift of surprise league leaders Red Bull Leipzig, who recorded their 10th win of the season after beatingSchalke 2-1.

Away from the league, Bayern are now preparing for their final Champions League group game againstAtletico Madrid, who have a 100 per cent record so far in Group D.

Although it will be a boost to morale if Bayern can beat last year's finalists, the result makes no difference as Bayern will finish 2nd in the group whether they win, lose or draw.
