Bechem United coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has lamented over the performance of referee Gabriel Opoku Antwi in the game against Asante Kotoko in matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Hunters suffered a 2-0 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium in the dying embers of the game despite their impressive performance.

Captain Abdul Ganiyu scored from the spot before Samuel Boateng head home the second goal to seal the victory on home turf.

Speaking after the game, Kasim Mingle expressed his disappointment in the performance of the referee who awarded Kotoko a penalty and also denying Abdul Ganiyu a red card after a reckless tackle.

“The penalty incidence, I’m not sure is a real penalty because Kotoko’s attacker just crossed our defender. You all saw what happened, Ganiyu tackle was a red card offense but he was yellow carded instead which is not fair” he said.

Kasim Mingle despite expressing his disappointment in the performance of the referee indicated the sides inability to concentrate at some key moment of the game caused their defeat.

“A bit of loss of concentration led to our defeat. Some of my players lost concentration during the dying minutes that cause our defeat”

Kasim Mingle added his side deserve some points considering their performance.

“It’s very bad, to play such a game and lose during the dying minute is very painful but that is football for you” he said.
