Bechem United recorded an important 3-1 away victory against Berekum Chelsea on match week 12 of the Ghana Football (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition earlier today.
Dubbed the Brong-Ahafo derby, the fixture lived up to expectations producing four good goals on the back of high intensity football, as well as entertaining play from both sides.
Players Kojo Mensah Achau, Charles Owusu and Hope Aveyevu scored the goals for the victors with Francis Tweneboah getting the only consolation for the losing side.
The results means Bechem United has bettered their position on the standings of the Premier A division of the Special Competition as they now occupy 5th spot. The woes of Chelsea on the other hand has worsened leaving them bottom of the table.
Though Bechem’s chances of progressing to the next phase of the competition seems impossible, their fans will cherish today’s results especially when it was against their Regional rivals.
The preliminary stage of the novelty competition is gradually coming to an end with just two matches left to play. Going into the final matches, both Bechem and Chelsea will be hoping to finish on a good note. Match week 13 comes of this Sunday, May 13, 2019.
