The young shot-stopper has been signed on a season-long loan deal from Japanese club Urawa Reds.

“Another strong reinforcement for STVV: the Canaries managed to convince Zion Suzuki to continue his career at Stayen in the coming years. The imposing goalkeeper comes on loan from Urawa Reds, with an option to purchase.

“The 20-year-old goalkeeper progressed through the Urawa Reds youth series, before progressing to the first team. There he immediately made an impression: in 2021 he was awarded as talent of the year (New Hero Award),” a club statement from Sint-Truidense V.V said on Sunday, August 6.

Before his move to Sint-Truidense V.V, Zion Suzuki had offers from a number of clubs in Europe.

At a point, he was linked with a possible move to Manchester United before the red devils opted to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan instead.
