Berekum Chelsea have set sights on winning the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League trophy after an impressive start to the season, according to coach Joseph Asare Bediako.

Chelsea are undefeated so far in the league after five matches, recording big  away wins over Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold.

The Berekum-based side are currently top of the table with 13 points, one point more than second place and current champions Aduana Stars following a 1-0 win over Ashanti Gold SC.

Kofi Owusu's strike was enough to help Chelsea overcome the Miners at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Saturday in match day five.

Speaking to the media after the game, coach Asare Bediako said, "There is no secret to our winning but the determination and discipline of our players. They listen to whatever we tell them and they do it to perfection."

"We know Ashantigold is a big club. We watched them against legon cities so we mapped a strategy to beat.

"Every team wants to win the league and that is our ambition as well.

He added, "It was not a matter of fatigue. Our players were over confident in this game.

"We played well in this game. Over confidence let us down."
