Bernard Mensah scores in Redditch United’s win over Bedford Town

Bernard Mensah scored in Redditch Town’s 3-0 victory against Bedford Town in the English Southern Football League on Monday evening.

Both teams were not able to control the game in the early minutes which resulted in the goalkeepers not being forced into any save at the Trico Stadium.

Bernard Mensah with down in the 12th minute after a Bedford Town player jumped over him. He was treated and allowed to continue.

In the 24th minute, Redditch United came close to scoring the game’s first goal. Flanagan’s short corner was curled to the back post, Ryan Wollacott headed downwards and the ball bounces off of the underside of the crossbar, Mensah reacted quickly to push the ball into the net but the ball was cleared off the line.

Before the break, Mensah again had a chance but his shot was blocked. He then tried again after the block but the ball went wide.

Redditch United broke the deadlock in the 68th minute through Bernard Mensah. Max Sheaf slipped the ball to Mensah who hits the ball beyond Eve into the bottom left corner.

The Reds added the second goal in the 72nd minute Ryan Wollacott headed home from a Flanagan corner.

Max Sheaf smashed home Redditch United’s third goal after Bernard Mensah’s shot was blocked. Bedford Town’s Dreyer was sent off in the 87th minute after a foul on Mensah.

After this result, Redditch United is 7th on the league table with 36 points after 25 games and Bedford Town is 16th with 28 points.
