After securing promotion from Zone Three of the Division One League (DOL) to play in the nation’s top-flight league next season, the playing body of Accra Great Olympics have been promised an undisclosed special qualification bonus by Mr Talal Fattal, CEO of Metro TV, and other members of the club’s Board of Directors.

The Accra-based traditional club gained promotion from the Division One League following a vital 2-1 win over Mighty Jets in their penultimate league fixture at the MATS Park at Teshie ahead of the last game against Istanbul on Sunday.

An inside source revealed to the Graphic Sports yesterday that, “the players of the club will be given special money by the management team so the players can be motivated to perform better in the premiership next season.

“It has been a difficult campaign for them which involved many difficult fixtures but they were able to sail through and we believe with this bonus they would be very pleased and can even play better next season,” he added.

According to him, the incentives would be given to the players after their final Division One League fixture against Istanbul at the Fire Service Park at Teshie.

Meanwhile, the Head Coach of the club, Godwin Attram, has told the Graphic Sports that Olympics had returned to stay in the premiership for long and were ready to contend with every opposition.

“We have been away for just a season and since we are back we will not struggle in the bottom three again.

“We are here to show Ghanaians how Olympics have evolved in the past 10 months and compete with any club at the top,” he said.
